This was a book cover redesign project, for the book "Making Things Grow Indoors" by Thalassa Cruso. Thalassa Cruso (1909–1997) was a British-born horticulturist, author, and television personality, and I wanted to bring her very relevant book up to date for today's plant growing enthusiasts.
I wanted to reference the style of her original books - especially the typography and some of the colours, but bring it into 2025.
I added my own illustrations to give a playful style and contrast to the more formal typography. I played with the idea of windows to emphasize the indoor aspect of this growing guide.
